Our vision is to wow our clients through Vows Wedding!

Updated: Dec 9, 2023

Till the twelfth, I was an average student. For graduation, I opted B.Com and pursued it at Motilal Nehru College, Delhi University. It wasn’t a well thought decision. Na Startup karne ka irada tha na hi koi desk job karne ka man tha. I had done ethical hacking, but as it was also a desk job, so it didn’t work out well.

I was a lost kid, open to exploring various career opportunities. During the COVID lockdown, I got ample time to research and learn about Wedding Management Institute. It was India’s first institute that taught wedding planning and wedding design. I loved organising events since my school days. So I enrolled in the one-year diploma course.

Luckily I met Tamanna at the institute. Her story is also exciting, and like me. She also hated doing desk jobs. She was from a sports background. In the ninth grade, she won the first gold in ‘Shooting’ in her first inter-school competition. After that, she won gold in the State Shooting Championship from 2016 to 18 and played in international tournaments. But shooting is an expensive game. Investment is more than the return. So, she decided to switch her career. As someone who loved doing creative work, she also enrolled in the same course at WMI. Moreover, she also enjoyed planning her cousin’s wedding as well. So, it made her decision easier to shift towards the booming industry.

We became good friends during the course. We interned together and then worked under some of India’s top wedding planners. It helped us a lot to have practical experience in planning a successful wedding. In 2020, we decided to start our own company. And it led us to create Vows Wedding. The fantastic creative name was Tamanaa’s idea. Because vows mean promises. And, isn’t the wedding promises the best vows?

We didn't get a single client for the first 1-1.5 years. The reason was people were looking for an experienced company. And a wedding is something that people are not open about taking a risk in creating the memorable moments of their life.

Our first client came through Tamanna. Luckily, they believed in us. And we organised it successfully. For one year, we worked on the break-even point, i.e., without any profits. We made mistakes, learnt from them, and improved after each wedding. Recently, we planned an event in which our guests were some of India’s wealthiest people, like Gautam Adani and other VIPs. It was indeed a challenging task to manage the event successfully. But, at the end of the event, we were proud of ourselves.

The wedding season is coming soon! We are excited to wow our clients through Vows Wedding.
